Vequencer and Nokia Alphalabs

December 1st 2011

Last month, our founder and lead programmer Martin Caine was invited by Nokia and Microsoft to participate in a new experiment designed to promote Windows Phone 7 and the new Nokia Lumia 800. This alphalabs.cc experiment was produced in collaboration with onedotzero and the goal was to bring together artists with programmers to create some exciting new apps for the Nokia Lumia 800.

Martin was teamed up with Simon Jackson (also a fellow admin of the XNA UK UserGroup), Matt Lacey (founder of the Windows Phone UserGroup) and Stuart Warren-Hill (half of the experimental audio-visual act Hexstatic) to produce an audio visual experience based on one of Stuart's designs. The resulting app, Vequencer, was a huge hit with everyone that tried it and the team have big plans for the app in the future. The app was designed an extension of Stuart's Holotronica project and provides a simple audio visual sequencer with cool 3D visualizations based on Stuart's new audio visual 3D album.
